Alright so following the graduation, I had to rush to do my shift for the wristband exchange at the union for the St Andrew's Day Ball the same night. We didn't have many problems, which was a nice surprise after all the tantrums that happened after we sold out. It is not officially a graduation ball, but it is a nice opportunity that the PG society organised for the postgrads to meet up and party. It was personally the best ball I attended hands down. Perhaps it was due to the fact that there were barely any undergrads? or just because there were just 300 of us(compared to over one thousand at the Welly Ball)?....I really don't know! There were no weird people drunk off their ass, falling everywhere...or even more classy, vomiting everywhere. It was really tamed yet super fun! I liked it!
So being part of the committee we were supposed to show up earlier. So we got there for like 6:30PM. Didn't have time to take a nap like I had planned, but anyhow. The ball was at the Old Course Hotel, the best hotel in town and it was a gorgeous place, totally worth it!
So around 7:30 it started with a wine reception, followed by a ceilidh, which is a traditional Celtic dance. SO MUCH FUN! My favourite dance was Dashing White Sergeant, super fun! And also the only one I did that I understood. Oh and I got stabbed in the foot by some stupid girl who kept her heels on. Had a bruised foot for a few days.
Then two sets of DJs came on. The first one was very good, but I personally preferred the second one, because we were able to dance more to the songs. I have no idea how, where I got the energy, but I ended up dancing all night up until it ended at 12:30 (yes that's pretty early, it's due to early license in St Andrews).
Below this is me and Aizat. We danced all night and ate waaaayyy too much free ice cream. mmmm so delicious!
Then I got asked out by some drunk weirdo who said he would ask me out again when I wasn't drunk - I hadn't taken a drink all night...but anyways. Then when I got home around 1:15AM I realised I had forgotten my card for the gate to the property. Ended up freaking out and texting a few people (sorry if I woke you up!) and Antonia came to my rescue :) and that's it! Was finally able to go to bed yay! xx
